Hello & Welcome to Jefferson

Please take the time to review the vital information below to prepare you for Nursing Orientation.

Your orientation will be a combination of virtual and in-person learning. Virtual orientation requires a computer/tablet (e.g. laptop/iPad) with functioning visual and audio capabilities. A smartphone is not acceptable.  

Please review Virtual Ground Rules (PDF). You are expected to be present with and audio features turned on at all times. Please let the Nursing Professional Development Department know if you need access to a computer and they will help you.

Please complete the following prior to the Sunday before your start date:

1. Check that your Jefferson Campus Key and Password are working
   1. Jefferson’s unique identifier and log-in is your campus key.
   2. You will receive a separate email from Jefferson with your campus key and initial password (typically Jeff+Last four of SSN). Please contact your nurse recruiter if you do not receive your campus key by Friday morning.
   3. Then use an Internet browser (preferably Chrome) and visit https://campuskey.jefferson.edu to change your initial password.
   4. Your campus key is used to log into e-mail, access EPIC and other applications on and off-campus
       
2. Set up your Multifactor Authentication (MFA) Microsoft Authenticator account
   1. MFA is used off-campus to access Jefferson applications such as e-mail.
   2. Set Microsoft Authenticator up on your mobile phone.
   3. Please follow the instructions found in Microsoft Authenticator Setup Tipsheet (PDF).
       
3. Check that your log-in to Workday Learning Management System works
   1. Use the instructions, Workday (.DOCX), to check your access.
   2. Follow the instructions for off-campus log-in.
   3. You may see some assigned e-learnings. You will complete them next week during orientation. Do not start them until after orientation on Monday.
       
4. NearPod is an engagement software that is required for you to use during orientation
   1. NearPod allows you to interact with us during orientation. 
   2. You DO NOT need to create an account.
   3. You can download the NearPod app from the app store, or you can access NearPod by using the Chrome browser and going to the site: https://nearpod.com

Tuesday 8:00 am - 12:30 pm
Jefferson Health Enterprise Nurse Orientation- virtual on Microsoft Teams. Please see your email for the Microsoft Teams link. 4 hours CBL completion time in Workday.

Wednesday 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
333 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees with Nursing Professional Development Specialists/NPDS

Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
333 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees for IV class, CBL completion time and/or Epic class.

Dialysis

Wednesday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm — Stratford Hospital, 3rd Floor for in-person skills session and Epic class.
Thursday — Refer to unit leadership for instructions.

Interventional Radiology, Cath Lab

Thursday — 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm — 333 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees for Epic class.

Friday — Refer to unit leadership for instructions.

Outpatient Infusion Center

Thursday — Refer to unit leadership for instructions. Check with NPDS for the date of your Epic Class.

Operating Room

Thursday & Friday – Refer to unit leadership for instructions.

Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Wednesday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm — S333 Laurel Oak Road, Voorhees for in-person skills session and Epic class.

Thursday — Refer to unit leadership for instructions.

Same Day Surgery (SDS) including Surgical Center, GI/Endoscopy

Thursday — Refer to unit leadership for instructions.
